CHIMNEY FIRE IN THE 11 BOX
Dec 17th - At 1954 hrs NHFD was alerted to 14385 Road for a chimney fire with extension. NHFD responded with Engine 251, Engine 151, Tanker 151, & Tanker 251. Engine 251 was second due and assisted Engine 11-2 with fire control and was assigned safety. Engine 151 was staged at the hydrant at the water treatment center. Command 11 placed the box available at 2101 hrs.

TANKER SHUTTLE CLASS
Nov 10th - At 0900 hrs units from Co.51, Co.52, Co.49. established at water supply to demonstrate a tanker shuttle to establish times to be used for real incidents. Engine 251 was the draft Engine, Tanker 151, Tanker 251, Tanker 52, & Tanker 49 ran a 1 mile route to establish an average of 965 G.P.M, then a 2 mile route each way was tried and an average of 680 G.P.M. was maintained.

FIRST DUE HOUSE FIRE
Nov 6th - At 2335 hrs the 251-01 box was alerted to 15798 Cumberland Highway for a house fire. Engine 251 arrived to find a farm house with fire showing, second floor and attic side "D". Crews made an aggressive attack and brought the fire under control within 15 minutes. Crews did overhaul to the fire area and checked for extension. Chief 51 (E.Hoover) had the command and units cleared at 0135 hrs.

RESCUE 51 TO ASSIST
Nov 6th - At 1859 hrs Rescue 51 was requested to the 11-02 box to assist Pleasant Hall Fire Company with a crash with entrapment. Chief 11 (E.Varner) requested the assistance. Rescue 51 arrived to assist with a roof removal of a SUV. Rescue 51 cleared at 1928 hrs.

CRASH AT LOVERS LANE & NEWVILLE ROAD
Nov 4th - At 2037 hrs crews from NHFD were alerted to the above intersection for an auto accident with entrapment. Crews arrived to find a Ford Explorer into a pole with no entrapment. Crews assisted EMS with patient care and controlled hazards. NHFD was available at 2204 hrs.

NHFD ASSIST FMFD WITH A PUMP 2 CLASS
Oct 7th - Tanker 151 arrived in the valley around 10am on Sunday to assist FMFD with a Pump 2 class. Tanker 151 hauled multiple loads of water for the training class, and the Captain even got some drivers training.

BARN FIRE IN 15's AREA
Oct 6th - At Tanker 1 & 251 were alerted to 4300 block of Roxbury Road for a barn fire. Units arrived to find a working fire, however it was a well hydrated area and the tankers returned to service at 0216 hrs.

HOUSE FIRE ON EBENEZER ROAD
Sept 3rd - At 1553 hrs Tankers 1 & 251 were alerted to 6529 Ebenezer Road in Lurgan Township for a house fire. Units from company 11 arrived on the scene to find a working fire in a house under construction. Tanker 1 & 251 each hauled one load of water. Engine Co. 51 was alerted to fill the box. Units cleared at 1706 hrs.

TANKER ASSIGNMENT TO 15'S AREA
Aug 31st - Tankers 1 & 251 responded to assist WEFR with a house fire at 7490 Olde Scotland Road. Chief 15 arrived to find a working fire from side "A" of the house. Tankers 1 & 251 staged on Olde Scotland Road and assisted with operations in Division 3 of the house. Once the fire was under control both tankers returned home.

100th ANNUAL PATH VALLEY PICNIC PARADE
Aug 18th - At 4pm on Saturday NHFD took place in the 100th Annual Parade for the Path Valley Picnic. NHFD brought Engine 251, Tanker 151, Tanker 251, & Utility 51. NHFD was awarded 1st Place Engine, & 1st Place Tanker.

ONE OVERTURNED
Aug 14th - At 1639 hrs NHFD was alerted to the 300 block of the Shippensburg Road for an auto accident. Units arrived to find one auto on its side with minor injuries. Engine 251 crew took care of any hazards and cleared the scene at 1723 hrs.

Aug 6th - The Officers & Members of the Newburg-Hopewell Volunteer Fire Company are sad to announce the passing of Past Fire Chief & Charter Member Ken Coleman. Ken served as fire chief from 1964-1979. The fire company offers their condolences to the Coleman family. The viewing will be held on Saturday August 11th, 2007 at 0900-1100. The service will follow the viewing. The services will be held at the Newburg U.M Church center 205 N. High Street.

3rd ANNUAL NHFD SCAVENGER HUNT
Aug 11th - At 1500 hrs teams from Newburg, West End, & Pleasant Hall stared the 3rd Annual NHFD Scavenger Hunt. Teams had 2 hours to find 51 items on a list. At the end of the 2 hours Pleasant Hall came out on top for another win. West End in second and the 2 teams from Newburg in 3rd and 4th. Everybody had an excellent time. Hope to see everybody back next year. Some people even showed their feminine side, Right Dale.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE PRYOR FAMILY
July 31st - On Tuesday, July 31st the Pryor Family got a visit from the stork. The stork dropped off a 6 pound 4 ounce healthy baby girl named Hanna Grace Pryor. Congratulations from all The members of the Fire Company.
BARN FIRE
July 14th - At 0528 hrs the NHFD tanker task force was alerted to assist WEFR with a barn fire at 744 Orrstown Road. Tanker 1 & 251 arrived and assisted with waster supply. Both tankers hauled 2 loads of water. Units cleared at 0758 hrs.

POSSIBLE HOUSE FIRE
July 7th - At 1713 hrs while crews were on the mountain fire NHFD was alerted to 1369 Mountain Road for a possible house fire. Engine 151 arrived on the scene to find a controlled burn. The owner of the house was burning bushed in the front of his house. No services were needed and crews cleared at 1723 hrs.

MOUNTAIN FIRE
July 7th - At 1608 hrs NHFD and Brush 52 (Vigilant's) were alerted to 100 Clayhill Road for a woods fire. Units arrived to find approximitlly 1/2 acre burning. Engine 251, Tanker 151, and Brush 52 contained and extinguished the fire. Units cleared at 1806 hrs.

STORM CLEAN UP
June 19th - Around 1700 hrs a severe thunderstorm decided to visit the area and knock over a few trees in its path. Crews cleared trees from Three Square Hollow & Hannah Road, Mountain Road & Hannah Road, and East Creek Road & Booz Road. Units cleared at 1944 hrs.
MEMORIAL DAY PARADE
May 20th - At 1400 hrs the Newburg-Hopewell Vol. Fire Co. participated in the annual Memorial Day Parade in Newburg.

HOUSE FIRE IN ROXBURY
Apr 5th - At 1631 hrs NHFD was alerted to 15123 Rosenberry Lane in Roxbury for a house fire. Eng 251 arrived second to pick up Eng 11-2's 5 inch. The crew assisted with fire control. Eng 151, Tanker 151 & 251 were also on the scene. Units cleared at 1817 hrs.

2 ALARM FIRE IN FANNETT TOWNSHIP
Apr 2nd - At 1450 NHFD was alerted to the 19000 blk. of Sweetwater Road for a building fire. Units from Fannett-Metal arrived to find fire through the roof of the building. NHFD arrived on the scene to shuttle water and help with fire containment. NHFD cleared at 1753 hrs.

TRUCK BRAKES ON FIRE & CRASH ON SHIPPENSBURG ROAD
Mar 2nd - At 1049 hrs NHFD was alerted to Exchange Street and East Main Street in the boro for truck brakes on fire. Units arrived to find a dump truck with fire showing. Units extinguished the fire and cleared at 1100 hrs.
At 1250 hrs NHFD was alerted to the 300 block of the Shippensburg Road for an auto accident. Units arrived to find two autos off the roadway. The engine crew controlled hazards and EMS transported four patients to the hospital. Units cleared at 1319 hrs.

BUILDING FIRE
Feb 15th - At 0459 hrs NHFD was alerted to 45 Bent Oak Road in Upper Mifflin Township. Communications advised Chief Hoover that they believed that he had a working situation. Command then requested 2 additional engine and 1 additional tanker. Engine 251 arrived to find fire showing from side "A". The fire was quickly contained and overhaul was completed. Units cleared at 0706.

MOBILE HOME FIRE IN 52'S AREA
Feb 9th - At 1303 Hrs NHFD was alerted to 680 Britton Road for a mobile home fire. Units from 52 arrived to find a working bedroom fire and fire under the mobile home. Engine 251 established water supply and assisted with fire control. Tanker 151 and 251 also assisted with water supply. NHFD cleared at 1437 hrs.

VEHICLE ACCIDENT W/ FIRE
Jan 31st - At 0653 hrs NHFD was dispatched to the turnpike mile marker 209 eastbound, Communications advised two tractor trailers had crashed and one was reported on fire. Co. 47 (Newville) arrived on the scene to find one tractor on fire. Command 51 (E.Hoover) determined no hazardous materials on the trucks. All hazards were controlled and units were placed available.
SHIPPENSBURG UNIVERSITY BOX
Jan 26th - At 0720 hrs on Friday communications alerted the box to the Old Century Cafe for fire in the building. Units arrived to find a small fire in the "C"- "D" corner of the building. Command held the box with a local assignment. Engine 251 cleared at 0732 hrs.

Jan 21st - At 1449 hrs Communications alerted units to 15643 Cumberland Highway for an auto accident. A snow flurry had gone through the area and caused chaos in the county. Units arrived to find one auto off the roadway. One pt. refusal was obtained and units cleared at 1509 hrs.

SMALL FIRE IN A GARAGE
Dec 9th - At 1423 hrs NHFD was alerted to 8439 Newburg Road for a garage fire. Units arrived to find the fire out. Units checked the walls for extension and gave the area a good wet down. Chief 251 held the box to Eng. 251, 11-2, 152, and TK53. Units cleared at 1454 hrs.
YOU GUESSED IT CRASH IN THE "S" TURNS
Dec 1st - At 1633 hrs NHFD was alerted to 519 Shippensburg Road for an auto accident. Once again units arrived to find one auto down over the embankment with the famous pole snapped off. One patient refusal was obtained, units cleared at 1758 hrs.

WORKING FIRE IN 52'S AREA
Nov 24th - At 2302 hrs Tanker 151 and 251 were alerted to 288 Neil Road in Southampton Township for a house fire. NHFD tankers arrived and assisted with water supply. Tanker 151 supplied Eng-152. Both Tankers cleared at 0008 hrs.

BUSY EVENING
Nov 22nd - At 1558 hrs NHFD was alerted to Gameland Road and Bridge Water Road for an auto accident. Units arrived to find one pickup truck off the roadway with no hazards. No patient was found and units cleared at 1635 hrs.
At 1735 hrs NHFD was alerted to 3 Darrin Ave. in the boro for an auto fire. Engine 251 and Tanker 251 arrived to find a working fire in the engine compartment. The fire was quickly knocked and crews cleared at 1813 hrs.
At 1901 hrs Engine & Tanker Co.51 was alerted to 23 Stamey Lane for a house and a barn fire. Tanker 151 and 251 arrived and established water supply by setting up a portable pond and supplied E147. The Engine crew assisted with fire knockdown and overhaul. Co.51 cleared at 2212 hrs. Engine 11-2 (PHVFC) covered for NHFD while they were busy.
TANKER'S VISIT THE VALLEY 2 DAYS IN A ROW
Nov 17th - At 1119 hrs Tanker 151 and Tanker 251 was alerted to 22158 Main Street in Doylesburg for a house fire. Both Tankers arrived and Command 12 advised to set up a water supply. Both tanker dumped on load and pumped one load. NHFD cleared at 1514 hrs.
Nov 18th - At 1414 hrs Franklin County Communications alerted both tankers from NHFD back to Fannett Township for a barn fire. Units from Fannett-Metal arrived to find a working barn fire. Tanker 151 & 251 arrived to fill the tanker task force. The tankers hauled 6 loads of water. Cleared at 1838.

TRUCK FIRE
Oct 26th - At 1258 hrs the box alarm sounded for a truck fire next to a garage. Engine 251 arrived to find a Ford F-150 fully involved. The fire was quickly contained. Units cleared at 1326 hrs. "Roger I guess you have to run to the fire house now"!!

Oct 19th - At 1905 hrs NHFD was alerted to the 500 blk of the Shippensburg Road. Units arrived to find on auto in the roadway. One pt. was transported to Chambersburg. Units cleared at 2017 hrs.
DUAL TANKERS TO THE 15 BOX
Oct 12th - At 0825 Franklin County Communications dispatched the 15-3 box for the silo fire. Tanker 151 and 251 responded to the scene. Tanker 151 hauled one load of water and assisted with water supply operations. Tanker 251 was placed available.
TANKER TRANSFER TO YORK SPRINGS
Oct 9th - At 1659 hrs Nhfd was alerted to transfer to York Springs Station 9. Tanker 251 completed transfer ans cleared at 2146 hrs, with no services rendered.

Sep 3rd - Units from NHFD was alerted to 519 Shippensburg Road in the area of the "S" turns. Units arrived to find on auto off the roadway in the bushes. No patients found. Units cleared at 0417 hrs.

TANKER & ENGINE RUN
Sep 1st- At 0024 hrs Tanker 251 was alerted to 90 Mount Rock Road for a barn fire. Units arrived to find a barn well off. Tanker 251 hauled 4 loads of water then assisted with overhaul operations. Engine 251 was alerted to transfer to Co.11 (Pleasant Hall). Engine 251 transferred with 5 personnel, and was placed in service shortly after.

DUAL TANKER RESPONSE AND A TRANSFER
Aug 19th - On Saturday Morning units were alerted to 878 Rowe Road in 15's area for a barn fire. Units arrived to find a large barn fully involved with exposure problems. Both Tankers from NHFD were alerted to the scene. Both tankers hauled a total of 70,000 gallons of water. While the tankers were working the scene, Engine 251 covered for West End.

PATH VALLEY PICNIC PARADE
Aug 17th - At 1830 hrs Engine 251 and Tanker 151 participated in the 99th Annual Path Valley Picnic Parade. Engine 251 took First Place Engine, and Tanker 151 took 2nd Place Tanker. Also The members of NHFD were presented with the Keith Hess Award.

2ND ANNUAL SCAVENGER HUNT
Aug 12th - On Saturday at 1500 hrs NHFD kicked off their second annual Scavenger hunt. Six teams participated in the event. Teams returned at 1700 hrs to check in a be judged. Thanks to everybody that participated, hope everybody had fun.

BUILDING FIRE IN SHIP
Jul 31st - On Monday morning at 0644 hrs NHFD was alerted to 16 E King Street in Shippensburg for a building fire. Co. 52 Units arrived to find heavy smoke from the third floor. NHFD crews backed up the crews on the third floor. Engine 251 supplied Eng 252. Crews assisted with overhaul till available at 1114 hrs.

EXTRICATION ON THREE SQUARE HOLLOW
Jul 28th - At 0733 hrs NHFD crews were awoke for an auto accident with fire. Units arrived to find the accident, but no fire. However entrapment was evident. Units stabilized the car and went to work. A roof flap was preformed. The pt. was extricated and flown via Life Lion. Units cleared at 0857 hrs.
FIRE IN 47'S AREA
Jul 20th - NHFD was alerted to 107 Long Lane in the 47 fire district. Units arrived to find a 2 1/2 story single family house well off. Eng 151 crew assisted with fire containment, Tanker 151 and 251 supplied the fire ground.
REPEAT
Jul 19th - At 0521 hrs NHFD and other units were dispatched to the Turnpike at mile marker 204.9 eastbound for an auto accident. Units arrived to find a tractor trailer approx. 200 feet off the roadway up over an embankment on its side. no injuries were reported. Units cleared at 0558 hrs.
ANOTHER ONE ON THE PIKE
Jul 12th - At 1848 hrs during a very heavy rain NHFD was alerted to mile marker 202 eastbound for an auto accident with entrapment. NHFD arrived with 8 personnel to find 2 autos and 1 truck with the roadway blocked. EMS from Pleasant Hall transported 1 to Chambersburg Hospital and 1 to Hershey Medical Center. Units cleared at 1944 hrs.
ONE FLOWN FROM THE 151-02 BOX
Jul 7th - At 225 hrs NHFD was alerted to Ridge Road and Burkett Road for an auto accident with entrapment. Engine 252 arrived on the scene to find 2 autos overturned with entrapment. Command 51 was established by Engine 252. One patient was flown by Life Lion and EMS transported 4 more to the hospital.
NHFD FILLS THE 11 BOX
Jul 6th - At 1738 hrs Rescue 51 was alerted to 12345 Cumberland Highway for an auto accident. While en route Engine 251 was alerted to fill the box. ONE PINNED ON THE PIKE
Jun 27th - During a very heavy rain NHFD was alerted to mile marker 202 eastbound for an auto accident with entrapment. Units arrived to find a Ford Sport Trac down over an embankment with the driver trapped. Pleasant Hall EMS, and Fannett-Metal EMS transported the patients to the hospital. NHFD Units cleared at 1849 hrs.
TRUCK FIRE ON THE PIKE
Jun 12th - At 1823 hrs NHFD, FHC, and WEFR was alerted to mile marker 208 eastbound on the turnpike for a truck fire. Units arrived to find a stake body type truck with fire in the engine and passenger compartments. Units brought the fire under control quickly and cleared at 1908 hrs.
NHFD HOST STRUCTURAL BURN CLASS
May 27th - At 0800 crews from NHFD, Upper Frankford, Cumberland-Goodwill, Citizens, & New Franklin Fire Departments all met at the Franklin County Training Center on Saturday morning. Crews burned all day and everybody was pleased with the class. Special thanks to all the instructors that helped out that day.

HOUSE FIRE W/ ENTRAPMENT
May 20th - As some of the members of NHFD was waking up to go take the DCFD Test, communications alerted the 1-51-05 box for the house fire with entrapment. Units arrived to find a 2 story bi-level house with fire on side "C" of the house. The fire was quickly contained to the outside of the house. Command 51 (E.Hoover) held the balance of the box for overhaul. Units cleared at 0326 hrs.

ENGINE 2 COVERS THE BORO
May 12th - Engine 251 covered for the borough of Chambersburg while they were on a house fire. The engine covered from 1128 hrs to 1405 hrs. No other incidents were handled.
FATAL ACCIDENT ON THE PIKE
May 9th - At 0611 hrs NHFD was alerted with FMFD on the 12-76B box for the tractor trailer accident in the tunnel on the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Units arrived to find a box truck with the driver trapped and D.O.A. . Units secured the scene and assisted the proper authorities with the remainder of the accident. NHFD cleared at 1040 hrs.
ACCIDENT IN THE BOROUGH
May 7th - Around 1122 hrs on Sunday NHFD was alerted to West Main Street & North Water Street for an auto accident. Engine 251 arrived to find 2 autos in the intersection. The engine crew controlled the hazards, EMS from Shippensburg and Newville were called to the scene for transportation of the patients. Units cleared at 1205.

TANKER ASSIST'S FMFD
May 1st - At 1233 hrs Tanker 151 was alerted to assist Franklin County Company 12 FMFD with a mountain fire. Tanker 151 arrived and supplied the engine's that were on the scene, and wagon piped the fire down over the embankment.

EARLY MORNING SHED FIRE
Apr 21st - At 0246 hrs NHFD was alerted to 8539 Newburg Road for a shed fire. Eng 251 & Asst. Chief 151 arrived to find a working fire in a 13x20 Esh Shed. Units contained the fire quickly. Command held the box to Company 51, Eng 11-2, and Squad 15. Units cleared at 0350 hrs.
