RESCUE ASSIST P.H.V.F.C WITH EXTRICATION
Aug 7th - At 1515 hrs Rescue 51 was alerted to assist Pleasant Hall with an auto accident on Forge Hill Road. Units arrived to find a pickup down over the embankment. Units removed the patient and controlled a fuel leak. Rescue 51 went available at 1618 hrs.

ALMOST A BARN FIRE
Aug 6th - At 1322 hrs NHFD was alerted to 26 Mowery Lane for a barn fire. Chief 51 arrived to find a pole barn that was half involved. Engine 251 put a knock on the fire, Chief 51 held Engine 251, 154, 252, and Truck 53. Engine 11-2 transferred to Co.51. Units cleared at 1414 hrs.

SILO FIRE
Jul 13th - At 0719 hrs NHFD was dispatched to 20 Bridgewater Lane for a Silo Fire. Units arrived to find a silo witch was smoldering inside. Crews from NHFD, Cumberland Valley, and Newville assisted the farmer with unloading the silo for extinguishment. After a long twelve hours crews cleared the scene.

BARN FIRE IN 50'S AREA
Jun 13th - At 1045 hrs Tanker 151 and 251 were alerted to 2357 Walnut Bottom Road for a barn fire. Both Tankers hauled 4 loads of water each before being released at 1245 hrs.

ACCIDENT WITH CONFINEMENT
(This is not how to become #1 Driver)
May 22nd - At 1526 hrs NHFD was alerted to 985 Ridge Road for an auto accident with confinement. Units arrived to find 2 autos with one patient confined to her SUV. Units extricated the patient and EMS transported to the hospital. Units cleared at 1621 hrs.

EQUESTRIAN ACCIDENT
Apr 29th - At 1641 hrs NHFD was alerted to 570 Newville Road for an equestrian accident. Rescue 51 arrived to confirm dispatch and request air medical to the scene. Engine 251 set up the Landing Zone. Units cleared at 1729 hrs.

GARAGE FIRE + TRANSFER
Apr 26th - At 0934 hrs Engine 251 was alerted to Bloserville Road for a Garage fire. Engine 251 arrived on the scene, command then ask them to transfer to Co. 48. Engine 251 cleared at 1228 hrs.

FIRE IN THE 247-06 BOX F
Apr 22nd - At 1519 hrs NHFD was alerted to 1040 Greenspring Road for a building fire. Engine 251 arrived to lay 500' of 5" line and supply Engine 247. Tanker 151 and 251 hauled 3 loads of water each. NHFD cleared at 1804 hrs.

FLY OUT
Apr 9th - At 1751 hrs Rescue 51 was alerted to 12 Reasner Lane for an unconscious person. Units arrived to find a patient that was unconscious for approximately 6 minutes. Air medical was requested to the scene. Engine 151 arrived and took care of flight operations. Units cleared at 1844 hrs.

2007 NHFD BANQUET
Mar 29th - NHFD members and guests met at the Shippensburg University Foundation building for the annual banquet. Numerous awards was given out, and all that attended had a very good time.

THE NEWBURG BOAR STRIKES AGAIN
Feb 28th - At 2108 hrs NHFD was alerted to Bear Hollow Road and Three Square Hollow Road for a car into a barn. Units arrived to confirm dispatch. A patient refusal was obtained by EMS. The driver stated that a "Wild Boar" ran out in front of her. If anybody sees the "Wild Boar" please do not approach. Extreme caution should be used, the animal will attack cars. Here is a picture of the animal.

TANKER TASK FORCE ON THE 49 BOX
Feb 21st - At 0007 hrs both tankers from NHFD were alerted to 7 Wagner Drive in the 49 district for a house fire. Both tankers arrived and shuttled water. NHFD tankers were released at 0201 hrs.

HOUSE FIRE IN THE 351-01 BOX
Feb 13th - At 0009 hrs NHFD was alerted to 1338 Mountain Road for a house fire. Engine 251 and Chief 51 arrived to find a 30'x 30' single family dwelling with fire showing from the roof and side "D". All occupants were out. Units extinguished the fire and cleared around 0400 hrs.
NHFD MEMBERS ATTEND CLASS
Feb 9th - Four members from NHFD attended class at the Franklin County Training Facility. The class was a structural burn evolution. Tanker 251 assisted with the class, as well as other Shippensburg area departments.

GARAGE FIRE IN UPPER MIFFLIN
Jan 29th - At 1358 hrs communications alerted the 351-01 box for a garage fire. Chief 51 and Engine 251 arrived to find a 26x36 garage well off. Units from Co. 51, 52, 53, 54, & 47 arrived at the scene to assist with the fire. The fire was brought under control in about 10 minutes. Command held all units to assist with overhaul. Units cleared at 1549 hrs.

DOUBLE FATAL ACCIDENT
Jan 14th - At 1506 hrs NHFD was alerted to the 400 block of Enola Road for an auto accident. LT. 51 arrived on the scene to find 2 autos with people trapped. NHFD arrived to find 2 class 4 patients. NHFD secured the scene and assisted the Coroner and State Police with their investigation. NHFD cleared at 1756 hrs. There was a mini van also involved that picture will not be displayed.

SHED FIRE
Jan 13th - At 1937 hrs NHFD was alerted to 91 East Creek Road for a shed fire. Chief 251 arrived to find a 20x20 shed with fire showing. Fire was a box of newspapers in the shed. Command held Co.51 and Eng 252. Units cleared at 2028 hrs.

Shuster Announces DHS Grant to the Newburg-Hopewell Volunteer Fire Company in Cumberland County
Jan 3rd - NHFD has received an Assistance to Firefighter Grant Program Award. They were awarded $58,402.00 to assist with 800 MHz radios. Thanks from all the Officer & Members of the Newburg-Hopewell Volunteer Fire Company.

SMOKE IN THE ATTIC
Jan 1st - At 2158 hrs NHFD was alerted to 1124 Three Square Hollow Road for a chimney fire. NHFD arrived to find smoke in the attic and the engine crew placed a line in service. Crews found some fire in the wall around the stove. No other extension was found. Units cleared at 2307 hrs.
